About the role
WelbeHealth is hiring a per-diem Driver to safely transport PACE program seniors to and from appointments and activities out of its Carson, California location. You'll run pre-trip vehicle inspections, assist participants (including wheelchair transfers) in and out of ADA-accessible vehicles, and coordinate with dispatch — with a variable schedule that can include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Pay is $25/hour.
Responsibilities
- Transport PACE program participants safely to and from appointments and activities on an assigned schedule
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on lift vans, ADA-accessible minibuses, and ambulatory vehicles
- Assist participants in and out of vehicles, including wheelchair transfers
- Communicate schedule changes or participant condition changes to the Transportation Supervisor
- Follow all traffic and safety regulations while operating vehicles
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (1 year of experience may substitute)
- Valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance
- Must be at least 25 (candidates 23-24 considered case-by-case); drivers over 70 may need medical certification
- Available for a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Pass a DOJ/FBI background check and DOT physical; participate in DMV pull-notice and random substance testing
- CPR/First Aid certification within 180 days of hire
