About the role
Origis Energy — a leading U.S. renewable energy and decarbonization platform — is hiring a Solar PV & BESS O&M Technician (Solar Electrician) in Penwell, TX. You'll maintain, troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar PV and battery storage systems, working on AC/DC equipment, inverters and switchgear while following strict safety protocols. Pay is $25–$45/hour depending on level (Solar Technician 2–4), with sites across nine states and occasional regional travel.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on AC and DC systems (inverters, PV modules, transformers, switchgear)
- Monitor plant operations via SCADA and support commissioning, testing and modifications
- Follow strict safety protocols including Job Hazard Analysis and Lock-Out-Tag-Out
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve site issues with remote operators
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS software
Requirements
- Valid driver's license; high school diploma or equivalent (electrical certs/training preferred)
- Experience in large-scale solar O&M (varies by level)
- Proficiency reading electrical schematics and using SCADA and CMMS
- Able to lift up to 80 lbs, walk 2+ miles/day and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Willing to join an on-call rotation
