About the role
Modern Animal is hiring a credentialed veterinary technician (called a Veterinary Nurse internally) to join its Virtual Care team part-time. You will triage pet-health questions over chat, phone and video, review records and process prescriptions from a home office. Shifts run 10am to 7pm Pacific on two set days a week.
Responsibilities
- Answer member questions about pet health via chat, phone and video
- Triage cases and give recommendations grounded in veterinary knowledge
- Review medical records to understand patient history before advising
- Document each interaction accurately using veterinary terminology
- Verify and process prescription requests and follow up
- Follow clinical protocols while adapting to each case
- Give feedback to improve virtual-care workflows and support Telemedicine and Member Success teams as needed
Requirements
- Credentialed veterinary technician who has passed the VTNE
- At least two years of small-animal veterinary experience (emergency or specialty a plus)
- Comfortable with multiple software platforms and online tools
- Clear, empathetic written and verbal communication
- Quiet, dedicated workspace with internet of 100 Mbps up and down and under 10 ms latency
- Availability Monday/Thursday or Thursday/Sunday, 10am–7pm PT
