About the role
Dutch is recruiting licensed veterinarians to deliver telemedicine consults as independent contractors. You choose your hours, see clients by video and messaging through Dutch's own EMR, and are paid per consult. Most vets in the program give 10 to 15 hours a week, often evenings or weekends.
Responsibilities
- Hold video and asynchronous-message consults with pet parents
- Review histories, symptoms and treatment concerns submitted through the platform
- Establish a valid VCPR where required and decide whether telemedicine is appropriate
- Recommend evidence-based treatment, including prescriptions when clinically appropriate
- Document every encounter in Dutch's EMR with AI-assisted SOAP notes
- Consult with Dutch's clinical leadership when needed
Requirements
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school (or equivalent U.S. practice eligibility)
- Active license in good standing in at least one state where Dutch operates, with no malpractice or disciplinary actions
- 5+ years of post-graduate clinical experience
- Quiet, professional space and reliable internet for video consults
- Strong communication skills and comfort with telehealth tools
