About the role
Praxis Health is hiring a Prior Authorizations & Referrals Coordinator in Bend, OR to keep specialty referrals, imaging, procedures, and medication authorizations moving. You'll be the point of contact between clinical teams, patients, and payers, making sure nothing stalls in the approval pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Process referrals and prior authorizations for specialty care, imaging, procedures, and medications
- Verify insurance coverage and apply payer-specific authorization rules
- Submit authorization requests through payer portals, phone, and fax as required
- Gather and attach the clinical documentation each authorization needs
- Track pending referrals and authorizations and follow up with payers and receiving facilities
- Keep EHR and practice-management system records accurate and current
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare referrals, authorizations, billing, or patient access
- Working knowledge of EHR systems, practice-management software, and payer portals
- Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Strong organizational skills and clear written/verbal communication
