About the role
Two95 International, an IT staffing firm, is looking for an RPGLE developer to join a 3-to-6-month contract supporting IBM iSeries (AS/400) applications. You'll work hands-on with legacy RPG systems, write CL and embedded SQL, and help keep DB2 performance on track for the client's core business applications — fully remote, with coverage across EST and CST hours.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop applications on IBM iSeries using RPGLE (ILE RPG) and RPG Free
- Maintain and enhance existing production systems on the AS/400 platform
- Write CL programs and embedded SQL to support core application logic
- Tune and optimize DB2 database performance
- Debug and resolve issues across existing RPG applications
- Translate business requirements into clear technical documentation
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on RPG IV (ILE RPG) and RPG Free development experience
- Strong CL programming and embedded SQL skills
- Direct experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems
- DB2 database optimization and performance-tuning experience
- Comfortable working within SDLC/Agile processes
- Solid testing, QA, and debugging skills
