About the role
Phantom, the crypto wallet used by millions, is hiring a senior backend engineer to build the services behind Phantom Cash, its product for moving money onto and off blockchain networks. You'll design reliable, event-driven APIs in Node.js and NestJS on a fully remote, US-based team.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs connecting Phantom Cash to blockchain networks
- Balance reliability, code quality, and delivery speed on a high-growth product
- Partner cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams
- Mentor engineers and help raise the bar for backend engineering practices
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience
- Proven production experience with Node.js and NestJS at scale
- Strong grasp of REST API design: versioning, pagination, authentication
- Experience with event-driven architecture: queues, retries, idempotency
- Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals
- Blockchain protocol knowledge or prior crypto/fintech experience is a plus
