About the role
CyberMedia Technologies is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support an IBM mainframe-based payroll system for DFAS. You'll work on highly complex, high-stakes applications — from analysis and design through implementation — on a program that keeps a critical federal payroll system running. An active Secret clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of complex mainframe applications
- Direct phases of system development and support testing and validation
- Analyze technical requirements and produce clear supporting documentation
- Resolve database issues and contribute to continuity-of-operations planning
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and program stakeholders
- Manage technical risk across assigned systems
Requirements
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with IDMS database, COBOL, and JCL
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Preferred: Oracle, COGNOS, JavaScript, Endevor, REXX, MQSeries, z/OS mainframe tools, ACF2, Control-M, DB2, or Assembler
- Comfortable with legacy modernization work and 24/7-mission-critical operations
