About the role
Outrider, which builds autonomous yard trucks for the logistics industry, is hiring an Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator for a 6-month assignment (with possible extension) in San Antonio, TX. You'll operate and monitor autonomous yard trucks — both in-cab and remotely via software — to test performance, log results, and help the engineering team improve the system. This is 2nd shift, Monday–Friday.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and monitor autonomous yard trucks, both in-cab and remotely via software
- Perform daily safety inspections on test vehicles
- Log test results and performance data, and report findings to the engineering team
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs as needed
- Support root-cause analysis on test issues
- Communicate observations clearly to dispatchers and engineers
Requirements
- Clean driving record over the past 5 years
- Ability to back trailers
- Comfortable using desktop and web-based software for monitoring and reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Safety-first mindset
- CDL-A license, experience testing robotic or autonomous systems, SDLC familiarity, and Linux/command-line comfort are a plus but not required
