About the role
Veterinary Practice Partners is hiring a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician for its animal hospital in Hewitt, NJ. Averaging 35 hours a week, you'll support veterinarians through exams, surgery, and recovery while keeping treatment areas running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians during patient exams, surgical procedures, and recovery
- Safely handle and restrain animals, and communicate care instructions to clients
- Perform lab work and radiographs, place IV catheters, and administer injections
- Maintain accurate medical records and help manage medication dispensing
- Keep treatment areas clean, stocked, and compliant with regulatory guidelines
Requirements
- Active New Jersey Certified Veterinary Technician credential
- Ability to handle animals compassionately and confidently
- Understanding of common disease states and how to recognize changes in patient condition
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety protocols
