About the role
Everstory Partners is hiring a full-time Funeral Director & Embalmer for Lohman Funeral Daytona in Daytona Beach, FL. You'll meet with families to arrange services, handle technical and cosmetic embalming, direct funerals and visitations, and manage the paperwork that keeps every service compliant — all backed by a national network of career-advancement and benefits programs.
Responsibilities
- Meet with client families to arrange funerals, explain service options, and assist with casket selection
- Prepare pricing and funeral contracts
- Perform technical and cosmetic embalming
- Finalize arrangement-conference details, including tracking and compliance documentation
- Direct funeral services and visitations — greeting families, coordinating pallbearers, and escorting clergy
- Serve as hearse or limousine driver when needed
- Prepare and coordinate permits and required documents, including death certificates, coroner permits, and embalming case studies
- Remove and transport the deceased from a home or hospital to the funeral home
- Maintain a clean, organized prep room
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a licensed funeral director, plus 2 years of post-secondary education
- Licensed funeral director/embalmer, or ability to obtain state licensure
- Graduate of an accredited embalming or mortuary science school
- Valid state driver's license
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Available for holidays, evenings, and weekends
