About the role
Heritage Funeral Homes, a Carriage Services location in Matthews, North Carolina, is hiring a full-time Funeral Director to guide grieving families through personalized memorial and funeral planning. The role calls for at least three years of licensed experience, participation in an on-call rotation, and a hands-on presence in the local community.
Responsibilities
- Sit down with families to plan and personalize funeral or memorial services
- Keep case files, contracts, and paperwork organized and compliant with state and company requirements
- Officiate and attend services on a regular schedule, including on-call/first-call rotations
- Walk families through merchandise and service options and enter the resulting contracts into the funeral home's system
- Complete Carriage Services' internal training programs and apply them on the job
- Supervise and support funeral home staff to maintain professional standards
- Represent Heritage Funeral Homes through ongoing involvement in local community events and organizations
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience working as a licensed Funeral Director
- At least 3 years arranging services directly with client families
- Valid Funeral Director license, or the ability to obtain one in North Carolina
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Embalmer license is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated commitment to community involvement
