About the role
Vitana Pediatric & Orthodontic Partners is hiring a part-time Orthodontic Assistant for its Coral Springs, FL practice. You'll support the orthodontist chairside, from taking impressions and X-rays to educating patients on appliance care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures and chairside care
- Sterilize and prepare instruments between patients
- Take dental impressions and X-rays as directed
- Place and remove orthodontic appliances under the orthodontist's direction
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and appliance maintenance
- Maintain accurate patient records and support regulatory compliance
- Help keep clinic operations running efficiently day to day
Requirements
- Prior dental assisting experience; orthodontic background preferred
- State-mandated dental assistant certification
- X-ray certification as required by state law
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Experience with dental software (Dentrix, Ortho2, or Open Dental) preferred
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced clinical environment
