About the role

Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry is looking for a Part-Time Ortho Dental Assistant to join the team at its Clayton, North Carolina practice. This on-site role supports the orthodontic provider with chairside assistance, treatment coordination, and hands-on patient care, and suits a dental assistant who wants steady part-time hours in a fast-paced ortho setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the treating dentist and orthodontist directly during patient treatment
  • Act as treatment coordinator, preparing and walking patients through their treatment plans
  • Schedule patient appointments around potential conflicts
  • Keep dental instruments, supplies, and equipment organized and ready
  • Collect and update patient health histories
  • Help manage patients throughout dental procedures
  • Clean, sterilize, and sanitize instruments and treatment rooms after each procedure
  • Prepare materials and equipment ahead of scheduled treatments
  • Complete accurate dental charting
  • Monitor and restock inventory and handle related administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Dental Assistant II training or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 2-5 years of dental assisting experience preferred
  • CDA certification, a passed radiological equivalency exam through the NC State Board of Dental Examiners, or completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program
  • Current CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it within 30 days of hire
  • Comfortable presenting treatment plans and insurance information to patients professionally
  • Familiarity with Eaglesoft and/or Denticon practice software is a plus
  • Reliable, punctual attendance
  • Sound independent judgment and ability to interpret office procedures
  • Team-oriented approach with attention to detail on repetitive clinical tasks
  • Willingness to travel between practice locations when needed
  • Ability to read and follow written safety rules and procedures
  • Discretion in handling confidential patient information
