About the role
Mecca Restaurant, a longtime downtown Raleigh eatery on East Martin Street, is hiring a part-time server to join its front-of-house team. The role suits someone who enjoys a fast-paced dining room and wants flexible hours — any experience level is welcome, and the restaurant will work around a range of availability.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests, walk them through the menu, and answer questions about dishes and drinks
- Take food and drink orders and suggest items based on guest preferences
- Keep assigned tables clean, organized, and properly set throughout service
- Deliver checks accurately and process guest payments
- Handle guest concerns or complaints calmly and courteously, looping in a manager when needed
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- No prior serving experience required — training provided
- Open availability is a plus, but the restaurant will work with varied schedules
- Comfortable moving quickly in a busy restaurant environment
