About the role
Chewy is expanding its virtual care team with a Telemedicine Veterinarian II who can see patients entirely from home. The role blends flexible full-time or part-time scheduling with Chewy's growing telehealth platform, giving licensed vets a way to practice without clinic hours, in-person exams, or a commute.
Responsibilities
- Run live video consultations with pet parents across Chewy's supported states
- Evaluate symptoms, reach a diagnosis where appropriate, and recommend a clear treatment path
- Walk pet owners through next steps and ongoing care instructions
- Keep thorough, accurate medical records for every visit
- Follow state telemedicine rules and veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) requirements
Requirements
- DVM/VMD (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of small-animal clinical experience
- Active veterinary license in good standing
- Strong communication skills and confident clinical decision-making over video
- Comfortable working with telehealth software and video-call platforms
- A quiet, private home workspace with reliable high-speed internet
- Willingness to obtain or maintain licensure in any additional state where Chewy requires it
