About the role
American Traveler is placing a Labor and Delivery RN on a 13-week travel contract at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. This is a high-acuity Level 3 Perinatal center handling around 150 births a month, roughly 70% of them complex or high-risk, with Level 4 NICU support and on-site ORs for cesarean deliveries. You'll work night shifts caring for patients across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn stages, floating within the hospital as census requires.
Responsibilities
- Deliver labor and delivery nursing care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Care for a high-acuity caseload where roughly 70% of patients are complex or high-risk
- Support around 150 births a month alongside a Level 4 NICU and on-site cesarean-delivery ORs
- Monitor maternal and fetal status closely and respond quickly to changes during labor and delivery
- Float within the hospital to other units as patient volume requires (floating to sister hospitals is not required)
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered Washington State RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience
- Current BLS, NRP, and FHM (fetal heart monitoring) certification
- ASN or ADN degree
- Able to complete required background checks, immunizations, TB testing, a 10-panel drug screen, and fit-mask testing
- Available for mandatory weekend shifts; block scheduling is not available
