About the role
Lancaster Veterinary Specialties, a multi-specialty referral hospital, is hiring a part-time Veterinary Assistant. You'll support technicians and specialists across three to four shifts a week — no weekends or holidays required — in a hospital that prides itself on a drama-free, team-focused culture. Prior specialty experience isn't required; motivated candidates willing to learn are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain patients during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Assist veterinary technicians and specialists with treatments and procedures
- Support basic lab work
- Sterilize and prepare equipment between patients
- Help manage and restock hospital supplies
Requirements
- 1–2 years of veterinary experience preferred, but not required — the hospital is willing to train motivated candidates without specialty background
- Strong communication skills and a professional, team-first attitude
- Comfortable working 3–4 shifts per week in a fast-paced hospital setting
- No weekend or holiday shifts required
