About the role
Monumental Sports & Entertainment is hiring a part-time, seasonal Audio Assistant to set up and run sound for live events at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. You'll handle microphones, speakers, and cabling for games, performances, and interviews, and mix smaller events under the direction of the Sound team. It's a great fit for someone with live-sound or event experience who wants hands-on work in a major arena.
Responsibilities
- Set up microphones, stands, and speakers for performers and bands during events
- Configure mics, mixers, mult-boxes, and speakers for pre/post-game events and interview rooms
- Mix smaller events as directed and help enhance overall sound quality
- Distribute and retrieve wireless and wired mics, speakers, headsets, IFBs, and cables
- Run and patch cable lines for in-house use and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Work directly with the Director of Sound and in-house Sound Engineers
Requirements
- Experience with sound for sporting events, concerts, or theater
- Basic knowledge of sound boards and mixing
- Prior experience with Shure wireless and IEM/IFB systems
- Ability to troubleshoot wireless and wired microphones
- 3–5 years of live sound experience or a BA in Sound; touring/venue experience a plus
