About the role

RUN Studios is looking for an experienced Audio Specialist to anchor sound for its live and pre-recorded broadcast work out of Redmond, Washington. The job spans several disciplines at once: mixing as an A1 on LAWO-based systems, miking talent and managing wireless rigs as an A2, building out intercom and comms setups, and finishing projects as a post-production audio editor in Pro Tools. Productions range from a few hours to multi-week engagements and include studio broadcasts, webcasts, satellite media tours, virtual events, voiceover sessions, and remote-location shoots — often for high-profile executive audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver finished audio that meets both client expectations and FCC broadcast standards
  • Sit in on pre-production meetings with clients, presenters, and producers to align on scope and plan the technical approach
  • Build out console layouts and session templates tailored to each production
  • Record, edit, and manipulate digital audio to an expert standard
  • Watch signal integrity throughout a shoot or broadcast to keep audio quality consistent
  • Run the full range of broadcast gear — audio consoles, intercom systems, wireless mic/IEM setups, PA and playback systems
  • Operate ENG-style field recording equipment on location
  • Apply solid mic technique across both live event and studio recording contexts
  • Act as a professional, client-facing representative of the audio team
  • Help keep equipment and facilities production-ready, and contribute to workflow documentation
  • Pitch in on administrative tasks and other related duties as needed

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience working as an A1 broadcast audio mixer
  • Practical experience with audio-over-IP systems and large-format consoles such as LAWO, Yamaha, or SSL
  • Expert-level Pro Tools skills and strong audio post-production chops, including immersive-format mixing
  • Working knowledge of RF spectrum management, IP-based audio, gain structure, and signal flow
  • Comfort with — and curiosity about — AI tools entering the audio workflow
  • A knack for spotting problems in pre-production and planning around them before they become issues on set
  • Strong first-line troubleshooting instincts for equipment or signal problems
  • Poise working directly with senior executives and their staff
  • Self-directed, deadline-driven work style with a bias for action under pressure
  • Preferred: a bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience with Riedel intercom systems
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs; mostly indoor, on-site work Monday–Friday with occasional weekends; travel is generally local to the Seattle/Redmond area
