About the role
ConvenientMD is hiring a licensed EMT-B to work as a Patient Care Technician in its Belfast, ME urgent care clinic. You'll triage and room patients, take vital signs, assist with minor procedures, and document care in the EMR alongside providers in a fast-paced setting. Shifts are 12 hours, with full-time, part-time, and per diem schedules available and weekend rotation required.
Responsibilities
- Greet and support patients, explaining treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
- Conduct preliminary evaluations to triage patients and gauge the urgency of their needs
- Take vital signs, obtain medical histories, and assist with minor medical procedures
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record in line with HIPAA
- Coordinate with providers and clinical staff, relaying patient updates and helping with discharge
- Support the training of new clinic team members
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Nationally certified and licensed EMT with at least one year of experience as an EMT
- Current AHA or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (CPR/ACLS or online-only courses not accepted)
- Able to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, with at least some weekend coverage each month
- Reliable transportation and willingness to float to other ConvenientMD clinics within about a one-hour drive
- Comfortable with EMR systems such as Experity; one to two years of urgent care or ED triage experience preferred
