About the role
Onco360 is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist in Woodridge, Illinois, to manage prior-authorization requests and appeals for specialty pharmacy patients. The role includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new hires starting before August 31, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Manage pharmacy prior authorization requests and appeals with insurance carriers
- Coordinate with physicians, pharmacists, and internal departments to resolve authorization issues
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant handling of sensitive patient information
- Keep accurate, up-to-date documentation of authorization status and details
- Proactively track and renew authorizations before they expire
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years of pharmacy or prior-authorization experience
- Registration with the state Board of Pharmacy where required
- Working knowledge of pharmacy terminology, insurance claims, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer processes
- Experience resolving NCPDP claim rejections, coordinating benefits, NDC medication billing, and using CoverMyMeds
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer-service skills; adaptable to shifting priorities
- Preferred: Associate degree or PTCB certification, 3+ years of experience, specialty pharmacy background
