About the role
Oshi Health, a virtual-first GI care company, is hiring a fully remote Referral & Authorization Care Coordinator. You'll coordinate patient referrals and insurance authorizations across a multidisciplinary care team, working Monday through Friday on either a 9am–5pm or 12pm–8pm ET schedule. The role is open to residents of 15 approved states, including Florida, North Carolina, and Texas.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track patient referrals, authorizations, and medical records across the care team
- Complete accurate referral and authorization registrations, including patient demographics and clinical documentation
- Apply CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge to obtain timely authorizations
- Initiate appeals for denied authorizations
- Coordinate with external pharmacy support services
- Track and report on process data to support ongoing improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or equivalent coursework in a health/science field (e.g. biology, psychology, nursing)
- 2–3 years of healthcare coordination experience, ideally in a remote/digital healthcare setting
- Strong command of healthcare terminology
- Experience navigating health insurance plans and coverage
- Comfortable with Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Office, and EMR/EHR systems
- Telehealth or digital-health background a plus; startup or mission-driven healthcare experience a plus
