About the role
Natera, a genetic testing and diagnostics company, is looking for an experienced Senior Phlebotomist to join its El Paso, Texas team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role you'll be the steady hand behind accurate lab results — drawing blood safely and efficiently, protecting specimen integrity from collection through hand-off, and making sure every patient interaction meets the highest standards of care and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Confirm test requisitions and verify patient identity before every collection
- Perform venipuncture and finger-stick blood draws using proper technique
- Preserve specimen integrity by following aseptic procedures throughout collection and handling
- Log and track specimens accurately so nothing is lost or mislabeled in the chain of custody
- Monitor and uphold quality-control standards across all collection procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure work environment for patients and staff
- Escalate unusual or unclear test orders through the appropriate internal channels
- Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) responsibly and in line with privacy policy
- Support day-to-day logistics such as patient reporting, billing questions, and courier coordination
- Complete required HIPAA and security training within the first 30 days of employment
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on phlebotomy experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Valid phlebotomy certification where required by state law
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Strong professionalism and adherence to healthcare compliance standards
