About the role
The Place for Children with Autism is hiring full-time Behavior Therapists in Elgin, IL — no prior experience required. You'll work one-on-one with children ages 2–8 on the autism spectrum while the company fully pays for your Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, with most new hires ready to sit for the exam within about 35 days. Daytime, Monday–Friday schedule with structured training and clear paths to advance.
Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 with children ages 2–8 with autism spectrum disorder to build communication, social, and daily-living skills
- Implement individualized therapy programs designed by Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and collect session data
- Use play, movement, and creativity to keep children engaged while promoting skill-building
- Partner with families to celebrate progress, solve challenges, and support each child's growth
- Keep the therapy environment organized, safe, and welcoming
- Participate in team discussions on each child's progress and strategy
Requirements
- At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
- No prior experience required — RBT certification is fully paid and supported by the employer
- Energetic and able to bend, squat, and lift up to 30 lbs while keeping pace with young learners
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and insurance; willing to travel to other clinics when assigned
- Dependable, punctual, and open to feedback and coaching
