About the role
Gallatin Veterinary Hospital — an AAHA-accredited, Fear Free, five-doctor general practice in Bozeman, Montana — is adding an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician. This isn't entry-level: they want an LVT who can run with their technical skills, keep hospital workflow smooth and deliver standout patient care. You'll work a four-day week (Monday–Saturday rotation) at a hospital that prioritizes work/life balance, starting at $24/hour with room to grow.
Responsibilities
- Take patient histories and perform initial assessments — vitals, behavior, condition
- Assist veterinarians through exams, diagnostics, procedures and treatment
- Collect and run lab samples (blood, urine, fecal) and update medical records
- Perform x-rays, fill prescriptions, and administer injections, vaccines and medications under DVM direction
- Carry out dental prophylaxis, venipuncture and catheterization under supervision
- Educate clients on pet health, nutrition and preventive care
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
- Current, unexpired license from the Montana Board of Veterinary Medicine
- Passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE)
- 3–5 years of experience preferred; demonstrated leadership a plus
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted (75 lbs with help) and work one or more Saturdays per month
