About the role
Oula, a maternity-care practice with four clinics across the New York–Connecticut tri-state area (and three more opening in 2026), is hiring a per diem Medical Assistant for its Norwalk clinic. You'll room patients, handle phlebotomy draws, and keep visits running smoothly while supporting the midwives and OB/GYNs who deliver Oula's patient-centered pregnancy, postpartum, and gynecology care.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and provide hands-on clinical support throughout each visit
- Perform phlebotomy draws and other clinical tasks within MA scope of practice
- Handle administrative work, intake paperwork, and clinical forms
- Coordinate follow-up care and communicate with patients between visits
- Keep clinic flow moving as part of a team-based care model
- Maintain and troubleshoot clinical equipment, reporting issues promptly
- Follow universal precautions and safely dispose of medical waste
- Pick up unassigned tasks proactively and help cover other clinic sites as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED plus 3+ years of relevant healthcare experience, or a bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficient, hands-on phlebotomy skills required
- Solid grasp of medical terminology
- Comfortable with EMR systems and general computer use
- Flexible availability, able to work from clinic opening until the last patient is seen
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Experience in pregnancy or maternity care preferred; Spanish fluency a plus
