About the role

Sedgwick, a global leader in claims and risk management, is hiring a remote RN Telephonic Case Manager to guide injured workers through recovery and back to work. You'll partner by phone with injured employees, employers, and treating physicians to build and manage a medical recovery plan, acting as the clinical advocate who keeps treatment on track and communication flowing between every party involved in a workers' compensation claim.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing clinical telephone assessments covering the injured worker's condition, treatment plan, psychosocial needs, and support system
  • Build working relationships with the claims examiner, employer, injured worker, attorney, and supervisor to keep every party aligned on the recovery plan
  • Identify factors that could delay recovery or return to work, and step in early with a plan to address them
  • Apply medical and disability-duration guidelines to negotiate appropriate treatment timelines with providers
  • Spot opportunities to speed up care delivery and contain costs without compromising outcomes
  • Recommend alternate clinical resources when the current treatment path isn't working
  • Maintain strict privacy and confidentiality, and follow all applicable ethical, legal, accreditation, and regulatory standards

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Compact RN license (multistate license required)
  • At least 1.5 years of prior workers' compensation case management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Case management, rehabilitation nursing, or related specialty certification highly preferred
  • Comfortable working independently by phone in a high-volume, deadline-driven remote environment
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and verbal communication skills
