About the role
The Recovery Village Columbus is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician to support patients at its 80-bed substance-use treatment facility in Groveport, Ohio. You'll monitor and engage with patients during 12-hour shifts, help maintain a safe and structured environment, and work alongside clinicians, counselors, and addiction specialists delivering care from detox through aftercare.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and observe patients throughout scheduled 12-hour shifts, documenting behavior and reporting changes to the clinical team promptly
- Enforce facility program rules consistently, professionally, and with a firm but fair approach
- De-escalate challenging patient behaviors using verbal intervention techniques
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation
- Keep patient records secure and confidential at all times
- Support facility leadership in maintaining a safe, structured treatment environment
- Maintain professional boundaries with patients and coworkers
Requirements
- Associate degree in a health-related field plus 1+ year of BHT or similar patient-care experience preferred; without a degree, 2+ years of directly relevant experience required
- Experience with adolescent or child populations a plus for facilities serving that group
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record meeting company insurance standards
- Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
- Willingness to work 12-hour day or night shift rotations
